Surge of illegal border crossings

Senior White House officials to visit Mexico and Guatemala

The Biden administration is using all the tools and resources at its disposal to curb irregular immigration and improve the situation at the borders, including a project to resettle unaccompanied immigrant minors.

As part of strategies to reduce the number of immigrants arriving at the US borders undocumented, the Biden administration dispatched National Security Council officials on Monday, March 22, to Mexico and Guatemala to address irregular immigration from its root causes and try to curb the flow of immigrants from Central American territory.

Senior White House officials will have several meetings to discuss about the current situation at the US borders with local authorities and create regional cooperation strategies to reduce irregular immigration.
