Senate proposes to offer more visas to foreign health workers

Immigration has always been beneficial to the healthcare sector of the US. In fact, a considerable portion of health professionals are foreigners and currently reside in the country with a legal work permit.

To give a specific example, in Wisconsin, more than 19% of medical personnel come from other nations. This is indeed a fairly high figure and even more nowadays that we are going through a health crisis.

That is why the US Senate introduced a bill that proposes to use the available work visas, which have not been used during 2020, to allow more foreign health workers to come and legally reside in the country, while helping the health system to overcome the current crisis.

This could greatly benefit thousands of local doctors, who have been the front line in the battle against the Coronavirus.
