The Supreme Court decides to protect DACA

After the Trump government called for a ban on the program called Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) on several occasions, the US Supreme Court of Justice intervened in the decision.

The Supreme Court ruled in favor of the more than 700,000 immigrants protected by DACA. This program protects immigrants who came to the US when they were minors from deportation.

They have had the opportunity to apply to DACA benefits since 2012, when the predecessor government (Barack Obama) implemented this program.

Finally a relief for immigrants

The young immigrant community covered by DACA has been waiting since November 2019 when the Supreme Court of Justice announced that it would give a final verdict regarding the future of this program in June 2020.

Finally, on Thursday, June 18, the final verdict ensures the protection of the DACA program.

After all the ups and downs immigrants have been through recently, this news is truly a relief to them.
