House bill would protect the national economy

The House bill proposes to, among other things:

• Reduce waiting times for employment-based Green Card applications.

• Issue employment-based and family-based Green Cards not used in the last three decades.

If this proposal is implemented:

• More than 220,000 employment-based Green Cards would be available to highly qualified foreign workers.
• Eligible foreign workers would be able to bypass the years-long waiting list, which can often take decades.
• International students enrolled in the OPT (Optional Practical Training) program could also gain access to legal permanent residency through this bill, which would allow local employers to retain international talent.
