Mass deportations in the midst of the pandemic
Title 42 refers to a border rule that has been around since the beginning of the pandemic, when the Trump administration implemented it as a means to supposedly protect public health.
Through this measure, border forces are allowed to deport most immigrants arriving in the border territory within hours, without giving them an opportunity to present their cases, even if they are in need of international protection.
