Overall, the American public has a positive outlook when it comes to international students and recognizes their “academic, cultural, scientific, and economic contributions as vital members of their communities”. • In the 2021 survey, 55% of respondents agree that the US should increase its efforts to attract foreign students. This represents 5% more compared to 2017 results.
• 68% of respondents state that American students benefit from the presence of international students.
• 55% of those surveyed think that “it is in America’s interest to be the top destination of university students from other countries” to strengthen the economy.
• Only 18% of respondents think visa processes should be simpler, while 44% think they should remain as they are now.
