DACA is not enough

Currently, the only program available specifically for Dreamers is DACA, or Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals – a deportation relief program that offers temporary protection to eligible Dreamers.

However, although this program has protected more than 700,000 Dreamers since its inception in 2012, it has been at risk since 2017 when the Trump administration attempted to end it.

Now, only Dreamers already covered by DACA can apply for a two-year renewal, but no initial applications are being received at the moment, leaving hundreds of thousands of other Dreamers in limbo.
