Changes in travel requirements
This time, in order to reduce the impact that the omicron variant could generate, authorities have decided to establish some additional criteria. A recent CNBC report outlines some of these requirements, among which are:
- People willing to enter the US must show a negative result from a COVID-19 test.
- This test must be taken within 24 hours prior to the day of travel.
- Antigen and nucleic acid amplification tests or NAAT, as well as PCR, are valid.
- This measure applies not only to travelers and migrants, but also to American citizens and permanent residents.
- This test cannot be taken upon arrival in the US, unless it is an additional test.
- These conditions do not change the measures established by other countries.
- If it is necessary to cancel a flight for not complying with this measures, each airline has implemented its own conditions to postpone, modify or cancel the flight; so it is important to seek information directly with the airline.
After a year as peculiar as 2020 and in the midst of a gigantic immigration-related controversy, this is still the right time to start your immigration journey in the US. Contact Motion Law Immigration and ask for your FREE Consultation with our experienced attorneys!
These travel criteria may change
It is important to note that these measures may change depending on the health requirements implemented by regulatory agencies in order to minimize the adverse effects of the COVID-19 virus and the Omicron variant.
