The US will help Central America
The president decided to help Central America during the health crisis
Due to the alarming situation of the Coronavirus, the US is going to donate funds for the Northern triangle of Central America.
As it is well known, the crisis caused by the pandemic affects the whole world, therefore, the third world countries are suffering a socio-economic decline that is very difficult to stop.
Therefore, Trump’s government announced that over the next few days it will disburse a total of $ 8 million for the countries of the Northern triangle of Central America that are Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala.
What is the reason for the monetary aid?
This donation by the United States has two main reasons.
1. Recognize the effort of the Central American countries
Since President Trump took office in 2017, he has worked closely and jointly with the countries of the Northern Triangle of Central America to reduce illegal immigration.
The current administration of the US assures that the way to mitigate illegal immigration is to provide better living conditions for the citizens of Central America.
It means that if the governments of these countries invest more in education, economy and social security, people will not consider immigrating illegally.
Surprisingly, illegal immigration has been reduced considerably since 2018 and with the current health crisis, it has been reduced by almost 70% in recent weeks.
President Trump wants to publicly support, reward and recognize these countries that have helped reduce immigration, and that is the main reason for the $ 8 million donation.
2. Reduce the impact of COVID-19
As Trump’s government continues to deport immigrants despite the constant risk of the pandemic, the President decided to financially help these three countries that receive deportees from the US.
During the last week, several deportees have tested positive on the COVID-19 exam and this is an imminent threat to Latin American territories.
That is why President Trump recommends using this donation also for medical infrastructure and supplies to overcome the health crisis.
What are the conditions for monetary aid?
The current government wants to ensure that the countries of Central America continue to invest in their territories and by doing so, their citizens do not migrate to the US.
Therefore, this government gesture is for the percentage of illegal immigration to decrease even more and to invest in medical support.
The humanitarian gesture by President Trump opens a door of hope for Latin American countries that have few resources to fight against the Coronavirus.
The current government assures that this investment will have positive repercussions for both the US and the countries of the Northern triangle of Central America.
The best way to overcome the current health crisis is with collaboration between countries and this is the first step to a new international connection.
