A survey recently conducted by CBS News and YouGov reveals the opinion of the American population regarding immigration policy, especially about what immigration levels should be in the US.
This survey was conducted between November 15-19, 2021 and included 2,058 respondents (adult residents).

- 58% of respondents (the highest number) support the ideal of allowing some immigration, as long as it is tied to strict eligibility criteria.
Important fact: 83% of this group of respondents think the primary requirement for allowing immigration is that foreigners follow legal immigration routes. - 21% percent of respondents, or one in five Americans, support the ideal of stopping almost all or all immigration into the US.
- Creating a perfect balance, 21% of respondents, or one in five Americans, support the ideal of expanding and allowing a lot of immigration.
